Ardbeg Supernova 58.9% abv Limited Release
Ardbeg distillery have launched a new single malt, which is said to be the "peatiest Ardbeg ever". It has been reported that 3000 bottles, initially offered to a group of enthusiasts, sold out in 112 minutes, making it the fastest selling whisky in the distillery's 194 year history. It is said to have been created from the heaviest peated Ardbeg stocks of various distillation dates.Glendronach back in business.
The Glendronach Distillery in Forgue, Aberdeenshire , recently acquired by the BenRiach Distillery Company, has re-launched a new portfolio of single malts. Traditionally known for producing rich, sherried, single malt whiskies, these have now been joined by three new expressions-a 12, 15 and 18 year old.
The 12 y/o "Original" is a sweet, smooth dram. The much drooled over Glendronach 15 y/o is a full bodied malt, matured in Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 46%abv, the newly named "Revival" is non-chill filtered and natural colour. The Glendronach 18 y/o, now re-named "Allardice" is again bottled at 46% abv, non chill filtered and naturally coloured.
Managing Director, Billy Walker advises that this is the beginning of a strategy, to re-package and re-launch Glendronach in a worldwide market.
Glenfiddich 15 y/o Distillers Edition 51% abv
Glenfiddich has released this single malt in a handful of markets througout the world. Matured in American and European oak casks, including Oloroso sherry casks -a process said to add to its "exceptional and distinct" character.
Springbank 40y/o Limited Edition
Ian MacLeod Distillers is to launch a 40y/o Springbank from its award winning Chieftain's Collection. Limited to only 398 bottles, it will be available in the UK and Worldwide. Marketing Director, Iain Weir, described the whisly as "a real collector's item, and "a joy to drink"
