Established in 1839 near Alness in Ross Shire, the original distillery was burnt down while being used as a military storage depot. The distillery sits on the shores of the Cromarty Firth and was a farm which was purchased by a partner in a firm of traders who dealt predominantly with China where most of the original produce went. A most picturesque distillery, overlooking the Black Isle. Medium to full bodied, the Dalmore is a classic Highland malt whisky, peat matured in Olorosso Sherry butts for 12 years to produce a distinctively rich mellow and smooth single malt with a rewarding deep mahogany glow.
