Located on the west coast island of Islay, the water for this whisky is drawn from the Laggan River.The doors were first opened in 1779 by a merchant David Simpson who located the building on the shores of Loch Indaal on the island. Waste heat from this distillery is used to heat the local swimming pool, which was donated to the island by the owners.
Amber in colour with a good peaty flavour with lemon and sea salt giving a hebridean complexity. A taste of dark chocolate and pears with a good smoky sea taste remaining throughout ,a wee taste of honey lingering. Long and satisfying.
